explanation of process, Materials and Personal Evaluation:To be completely honest, I had a rough process. The whole time I was planning my project I was sort or expecting to get a little girl. To my surprise I got a little boy. As happy as I was to get little Pedro, this kind of threw me off track. I had all these plans that I could no longer do so I spent a lot of my time just researching things I could make on Pinterest. Nothing seemed right and then before I knew it I had 3 days to make something awesome for my kid. I wouldn't say that I just threw something together but I made something quick and simple. I made him a bucket of slime! This was something I loved to buy as a kid and actually still do to this day! So I gathered some borax, glue, water and food coloring and made him so much he probably wouldn't be able to carry it all himself. I made him the flubber, "farting" slime that feels super cool and nasty. I know that probably sounds gross but TRUST ME its fun. I'm really happy with how everything went down and turned out but if I had more time I would try to go above and beyond for the orphan. | This was a project I will remember forever. Giving back is always something I've wanted to do and getting this opportunity was just so perfect for me. For our final project we were each randomly given a child from the Ciudad de los Angeles orphanage. We were treated like children and we spent a week playing games like "tea-party" and coloring. We ate Rice Crispy Treats, drank juice boxes and watched silly kid movies. It was so cool remembering all the little things we did as kids that made our childhood so special. After that, we got into pairs of 2 or three based on the ages of our orphans. We did a 2 hour prototype challenge where we had two hours to build a prototype of what we could make our kids! It was a pretty stressful process but our trio remained calm and collected and got everything done on time. We decided that we were going to make a real life Angry Birds! My main job in this process was to paint and make all the birds and pigs. I think it turned out pretty cool and we all had fun building and knocking down the little wooden structures. Then we spent the rest of our semester making toys for all the kids the orphanage. |

I am bossy and loud.
I wonder what it’s like to fly like a bird. I hear the white horses crashing on the sand. I want to be responsibility free and live life in the moment. I am bossy and loud. I pretend to be drift wood floating in the sea. I play roulette of life. I worry about not being good enough in the eyes of people I care about. I cry at the thought of my family in pain. I am bossy and loud. I understand that I need to “sharing the air”. I say that mermaids are real. I dream of waking up on an island all alone. I try to meet new people. I want to always be happy. I am bossy and loud. |
